Maternity Photo Shoot
Tonight our friends, Brent and Ellie Bowers took some amazing pictures for us at Civic Center Park in Denver. We love how professional they turned out! Take a look at our favorites:

4 Weeks To Go and Other News
It's been a busy past few days. The biggie was that we attended our Labor and Delivery class at the hospital and I can say that I feel much better about the whole process now that I have a better idea of what's supposed to be going on. I'm sure I'll still have some freak out moments, but at least now I won't just be standing there not having any clue how to help. The class was over 6 hours long, but well worth it.
We've also been able to accomplish a lot in Squirty's room. We got all the furniture arranged how we want it and only have a couple of things left to hang. We also rearranged the furniture in our room (in the basement) to accomodate the Pack n' Play. Mel also says I have to tell everyone about how I push the empty stroller around the living room/kitchen area. It feels good to have things in order for when Squirty decides he/she wants to come home. Which could be pretty soon...
Today marks 36 weeks for Mel and Squirt. Only 4 weeks left to our due date (and 1 week till Squirt is considered full-term)! Mel has started taking people's guesses on Facebook re: Squirt's gender, birthday, and weight. At the time she guessed Girl, so naturally I guessed Boy. No matter what, we will be extremely happy with either.
This week is also my last full week on the midnight shift. After 3 years of nights, I can safely say that we are all happy to be moving on. I will miss my week-on week-off schedule, but then again there is a chance I would be able to do it on dayshift. I can't describe how much I look forward to being able to come home everyday and have dinner with my family and quit living this double life.
I did get to spend a day of my off-week reintroducing a good friend to skiing again. We hit a tiny (in comparison) ski area called Ski Cooper, not to be confused with Copper Mtn. We had a beautiful bluebird day with temps in the 40's with no wind and good snow. We got to see a helicopter land at the base area where we had eaten lunch just a couple hours earlier. Unfortunately, it was Flight for Life and they were airlifting a skier to the hospital after a serious crash.

It's a good thing we don't have carpet cause I'd have worn a path by now! |

Crossing things off the TO DO list
Thank yous from the showers are all written and my hand hurts :) All the gifts flew safely home from Michigan and have all been put away. This past week Matt and I have enjoyed getting the last few things Squirt needed with our many gift cards. Matt says he is done with Babies 'R' Us for awhile now.
Since the showers I have been super excited when the UPS truck shows up at our house, it's like Christmas every day over here! Earlier this week we went to Target to look at the lightweight strollers. I asked Matt to fold down one that he liked and then we couldn't get it open again. He spent almost 5 minutes trying to get it open and I couldn't stop laughing so we just left it like that. Then we ventured over to the infant seats and tried to get the one we were getting off the base, once again we couldn't figure it out and decided it was just bolted together and that we really don't suck as parents. We have so much to learn! Ironically, when we got home the UPS truck showed up and brought us the infant car seat and base, this time Matt read the directions and figured it out in 2 seconds.
While we were shopping the other day I must have over done it because I had 5 braxton hicks contractions in the 30 minutes we were there. Matt told me later that he got a little reality check with how close we are getting to our due date (5w2d) and said Squirt can't come till after Saturday. This Saturday we will attend our lamaze class at the hospital and we are both looking forward to feeling more prepared from it.
I've been feeling more and more pregnant lately with achy arms and legs. Early this morning I had the worst cramp in my calf that sent me crying to the bathroom, I am still limping from it. I'm staring to feel a lot more pressure downstairs that makes it hard to walk and stand at times but it's just reassuring me that Squirt is getting ready to come! My list of things I would like to do before Squirt comes is becoming more unrealistic everyday. Even the little things make me exhausted, lately I have had to take a rest after showering. I'm still not ready to throw up my hands and say I'm ready to be done being pregnant but I'm looking forward to not feeling handicapped any more. I really love being pregnant and I know I will miss the now big movements happening inside of me. We are to the point that we can see Squirt move from one side all the way to the other, at first Matt and I thought it was kinda creepy but now I just think it's amazing!
