We've recently crossed from the "good" trimester (the second) into the third. I feel like I haven't really been showing too much until now. A lack of attentiveness to my diet and infrequent trips to the gym have given me a bit of a baby belly too. No need for maternity clothes for me though!
The reality of the situation has finally begun to set in for me. Until now, even when I felt the baby kicking it didn't really register, but I was taken aback whenever I walked in the nursery. It's funny how somethings get to you. We also had an appointment/meeting with a nurse at the hospital where Mel will be delivering to go over how she wants the birthing process to go. I was definitely overwhelmed, but was amazed at how "in the know" my wife was when talking to the nurse. I guess all that reading she does on her phone has really paid off!
This past week I hit up Keystone and got to meet Annie the Avalanche Dog. She "works" at Keystone and helps sniff out buried skiers/snowboarders when need arises. Despite all the sun in the picture, it was freezing (about 9 degrees without factoring in the wind), so Annie didn't stay out too long. Her trainer told me that unless they really her, they limit her time on the snow so her paws don't freeze.
